The Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV) today rejected criticism of two recent Trump Administration appointments from left-wing Jewish organizations. Following the appointment of John Bolton as National Security Adviser and the nomination of Mike Pompeo to serve as the next Secretary of State, six liberal Jewish groups claimed Bolton would “endanger the national security of the U.S., Israel and our allies around the world,” while others called upon Senators to reject Pompeo’s nomination.
Rabbi Avrohom Gordimer, Chairman of the CJV Rabbinic Circle, pointed out that Bolton and Pompeo not only have strong records of friendship towards Israel and the Jewish community, but that they “have distinguished themselves by standing up boldly against aggressors and those who seek to oppress freedom. With these outstanding appointments, President Trump has done the free world a great favor.”
“Bolton does not require confirmation, so their opposition is meaningless and petulant,” added Rabbi Steven Pruzansky, East Coast Regional Vice-President of the CJV. “Some Jewish groups need to learn to at least not kick a gift horse in the teeth.”
