In response to the establishment of the new White House Faith and Opportunity Initiative, Rabbi Pesach Lerner, President of the Coalition for Jewish Values, issued the following statement:

From the beginning, the Trump Administration has supported policies and legal decisions which enable people of faith to do business while maintaining their principles and beliefs, and faith-based organizations to serve the public. Past policies hampered the free exercise of religion and prevented provision of critical services in everything from healthcare to foster care. The announcement of this new initiative is a further sign of President Trump’s commitment to true freedom of religion in this country.
