CJV responds to SCOTUS preservation of freedom of worship
November 26, 2020

In response to the Supreme Court’s decision to prevent New York State from placing unequal coronavirus restrictions on religious gatherings, Rabbi Moshe Parnes, Southern Regional Vice President of the Coalition for Jewish Values, issued the following statement:

“The Supreme Court’s decision affirms that the freedom to gather for religious worship is no less an essential right than the freedom to meet for commercial purposes, upholding one of the great principles upon which America was established. Our Founding Fathers would certainly be proud to see that even in these confounding times, when basic religious rights are threatened by extremists in America and throughout the world, the institutions that they created continue to be a beacon of light for freedom-loving people everywhere.”
