Described as a “rising star” in so-called progressive politics, 21-year-old Quintez Brown spent years campaigning for gun control, defunding the police, Black Lives Matter, and far left causes—including a violent Black Hebrew Israelite sect. Interviewed by MSNBC’s Joy Reid and recognized for his achievements and his promise at an exclusive Obama Foundation event, Brown appeared in photos with Reverend Al Sharpton and Charles Booker.
Now he’s accused of being the gunman who attempted to murder Louisville mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg. And no one is connecting any part of his past to the attempt to kill an actual Jew.
The Daily Beast calls his journey an “About Face,” but Brown’s journey from student activist to would-be assassin makes more sense in the context of his radical politics and his endorsement of Black Hebrew Israelites. Yet outside Jewish outlets, no one has reported on the Jewish identity of his target — or has shown interest in Brown’s own opinions of Jews.

As a candidate for Louisville’s Metro Council on Twitter, Brown made his ideology clear. “We have one scientific and correct solution, Pan-Africanism: the total liberation and unification of Africa under scientific socialism.” Last month, Brown published a Medium article that called for an armed communist revolution.
Brown used the same account to promote the Lion of Judah Armed Forces, a Black Hebrew Israelite sect. The Black Hebrew Israelites claim that Africans are the “true” Israelites, rather than the “whites” hated worldwide for being Jews. Just this past Tuesday, the official Lion of Judah Armed Forces Facebook endorsed an article making exactly this supersessionist claim.
In a 2018 Tweet, one of Brown’s former teachers reported “Al’s advice” to Brown: “Focus on finding ways to sustain the #neveragain movement.”
My students just ran into @TheRevAl in @JoyAnnReid’s staging area and are in awe! Al’s advice to @quintez_brown & @nyahmattison is to focus on finding ways to sustain the #neveragain movement. #MarchForOurLives @amarchforourlives pic.twitter.com/vu4XaYDbST

Nothing says “Never Again” quite like shooting a Jew.
