In the face of ongoing criticism for slandering Israel as a “racist” state, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) said that “most of us that get called out are women, Black, brown, immigrant.” Rabbi Yoel Schonfeld, President of the Coalition for Jewish Values, made the following statement:
It is truly shameful that Rep. Jayapal would hide behind her color or gender to shield herself from reprimand over her antisemitic expression. Is there anything more racist than that?
But this is not new; several of their colleagues falsely cried bigotry when Rep. Omar was finally removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee. A better question to ask is how so many Americans came to believe it acceptable to elect open antisemites as long as they are non-white and/or non-male, and why these representatives are accepted as members in good standing of a major political party.
