CJV Comment on Pro-Hamas Protests in NYC
January 8, 2024

Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV) representing over 2,500 traditional, Orthodox rabbis in American public policy, today condemned pro-Hamas protests blocking traffic across New York City. CJV Managing Director Rabbi Yaakov Menken issued the following statement:

Pro-Hamas protestors in New York City and nationwide must be immediately arrested and charged when they break the law. It is unacceptable for authorities to allow those who support murder and rape to block traffic. Whether in NYC or Portland, wherever terror supporters block American streets we demand the law be enforced. They must not be permitted to disrupt the day to day life of taxpayers, tourists and those who are driving to work.

Mayor Eric Adams has spoken out about the need to protect New York’s Jewish community. Jews are not safe in a city where people scream ‘From the River to the Sea,’ a call for murder and ethnic cleansing, while blocking traffic and disrupting commerce.

New York City has seen a mass exodus of its residents to Florida and other conservative states where law and order are respected. We suspect more New Yorkers will leave unless police are permitted to enforce the law.
