Tennessee U.S. Representative Andy Ogles (R-TN-D5) is getting support from the Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV) following recent statements targeting Hamas.

As tensions remain high in the Hamas/Israel war, Rep. Ogles has been the subject of criticism after he told a pro-Palestinian activist he believed “we should kill them all,” when referring to Hamas and their attack on Israel during the October 7 invasion. He later released a statement on the comment, saying he stood by them and added “I stand by Israel and their right to punish Hamas on a scale of Biblical proportion, including their accomplices and the facilitators of the aforementioned atrocities. I stand by what I said: Death to Hamas.”
Now, the Coalition for Jewish Values has issued their support for Rep. Ogles, CJV Midwestern Regional President Rabbi Ze’ev Smason issuing the following statement:
“Given that Rep. Ogles stated unequivocally that he was speaking about Hamas, a terror organization that has both declared and evidenced its intent to massacre all Jews, his is the only morally correct position. It is deplorable that organizations and even left-wing media outlets have deliberately falsified his words in order to malign and slander him. Whether through ignorance or malice, they are advocating for those who seek genocide against the Jewish People, and we commend Rep. Ogles both for his moral compass and his backbone when confronted with their virulent hate.”
Rep. Ogles, who is also up for re-election in January of next year, has also recently received support from his fellow Tennessee lawmaker Senator Bill Hagerty. In a statement release, Sen. Hagerty states “I’m pleased to endorse my friend and fellow Tennessean, Andy Ogles, for re-election. Andy has demonstrated that he is a fearless fighter for freedom, and his commitment to securing our border and protecting our national security is nearly unparalleled. As a member of the Financial Services Committee, Andy has worked to increase government transparency in the financial sector and advocated for increased security measures to combat foreign threats. He truly represents the values of Middle Tennessee in Washington, and I’m pleased to endorse Andy Ogles for re-election in the 5th Congressional District.”
