After an Austrian politician chose Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) as his role model, an analyst at the German Mena-Watch (Middle East & Northern Africa) policy center called this problematic, wondering if the politician will become “the Jeremy Corbyn of Austrian politics.” To demonstrate that AOC is an unsuitable role model, the writer pointed out that she voted against U.S. legislation to provide one billion dollars for the State of Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system. He includes a quote from Rabbi Yaakov Menken, who tweeted regarding Iron Dome that it “is 100% defensive, & the only people who would oppose funding it are those who want more Jews to die. Less than a century ago, these people called themselves Nazis, today they are called ‘the Squad.'”
