CJV Welcomes House of Representatives Staff Report on Antisemitism
December 19, 2024

Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV), representing over 2,500 traditional, Orthodox rabbis in American public policy, today welcomed the U.S. House of Representatives Staff Report on Antisemitism, an indictment of inaction against Jew-hatred at universities and even in government that the New York Post called “scathing.”

CJV President Rabbi Yoel Schonfeld issued the following statement:

The report, issued in coordination with Speaker Mike Johnson, Republican leaders, and numerous House committees, reveals the bigotry and double standards, not to mention outright hate, permitted and even incited within academia, non-profits, and government. There is clearly much more to be examined, as corporate DEI departments are doing no better, and the cited examples of academic institutions that are permitting and even inculcating hatred are by no means an exhaustive list.

Government cannot solve the crisis of Jew-hatred that is now pervasive in American society on its own, but it can ensure appropriate consequences for those who incite hatred and permit it to grow within their universities, corporations, so-called charities and even government agencies. Ultimately, it can demonstrate that hatred against Jewish students, professionals, and citizens will not be conscienced in America, and this report signals that the party that will soon control both the executive and legislative branches aims to do precisely that.
