When Pew reported last year that a minority of American Jews view evangelical Christians favorably, the Coalition for Jewish Values, a right-wing political organization of Orthodox rabbis, released a statement: “When people wish us well in this world, observant Jews recognize that this is generally a good thing, and trust that God knows how to sort everything out in the next.”

This year’s invite list included for the first time the Coalition for Jewish Values, a right-wing Orthodox rabbinic group. The CJV’s press release said that several other organizations were also invited to participate for the first time.

“Each and every one of these is something that his predecessors could have done, but did not. And so we owe him our repeated thanks. We were privileged to receive the President’s wishes for a blessed New Year,” said Rabbi Yaakov Menken, Managing Director of the Coalition for Jewish Values, one of the organizations invited to participate in the conference call.

The Trump Administration expanded its outreach to the Jewish community this year, according to the Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV), a young organization representing over 1000 rabbis nationwide.

A leader with the Coalition for Jewish Values said the 53-year-old federal court judge is a “very good, well-qualified justice” who has showed he supports protecting expressions of faith, even when they may “run against current cultural norms.”

Rabbi Menken’s organization, The Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV), is the largest Rabbinic Public Policy organization in America, articulating and advocating for public policy positions based upon traditional Jewish thought.

After a year and a half of fighting for Jewish values in the public sphere, the Coalition for Jewish Values is surveying the battlefield.

Most important of all, Jewish life is growing in Israel, while non-Orthodox Jewish affiliation is literally collapsing here in America, with intermarriage now over 70% and synagogue attendance at all-time lows. One could hardly imagine an issue more essential to the JFNA than the future of American Jewry, yet the program expresses no interest in discussing this crucial topic.

After conversing with Rabbi Lerner and reading some of the organization’s position papers, it seems that a small revolution is in the making. With the help of over a thousand rabbis whom he’s enlisted to the cause, Rabbi Lerner intends to go on the offensive and storm the media with an information campaign to bring the voice of authentic Torah tradition to the public ear.
