Frequent Daily Wire contributor and CJV Managing Director Rabbi Yaakov Menken told The Daily Wire at the time: “Word to the wise: If you claim to be pro-Israel, and sign a letter regarding Israel along with Reps. Omar, Tlaib, and Ocasio-Cortez, you’re fooling no one but yourself.”

“The Orthodox are the Jews’ Jews,” said Rabbi Yaakov Menken, the managing director of the Coalition for Jewish Values, a group of Orthodox rabbis. “There’s definitely been all sorts of deprecating comments within the Jewish community about how Orthodox Jews bring it upon themselves. Which is exactly what non-Jews say about Jews in general.”

Coalition for Jewish Values Managing Director Rabbi Yaakov Menken defended the president saying that some Jews don’t love Israel enough, writing in a Dec. 9 op-ed for The Daily Wire that less than 40% of American Jews “strongly agree that ‘caring about Israel is a very important part of my being a Jew.’”

The Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV), representing more than 1000 traditional rabbis in matters of public policy, on Tuesday sent a letter to Representative Andy Levin (D-MI 9th District), expressing “grave concern” and asking him and 105 cosignatories, all of whom are Democratic members of the House of Representatives, to withdraw a letter they had sent last week to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

The Coalition for Jewish Values, an association of over 1,000 American Orthodox rabbis, strongly objected to the arguments put forward by the Democrats and rejected the assertions made in their letter to Pompeo.

The congressional letter to Mike Pompeo opposing his recognition of the legality of Israeli settlements; the failure of the peace-process and a two-state solution; Netanyahu’s indictment and the similarity between Israeli and American politics.

A prominent politically and religiously conservative Jewish organization took 106 House Democrats to task for signing a “false and misleading” letter with respect to the Trump administration’s recent unilateral decision to declare that so-called Israeli “settlements” are legal.

“The worst part of the letter,” said Rabbi Avrohom Gordimer, Chairman of the CJV Rabbinic Circle, “is its condemnation of the ‘halting of aid’ to the West Bank and Gaza.”

The president of the Union for Reform Judaism, the nation’s largest Jewish denomination, said they were “greatly concerned” by the announcement, while the Coalition for Jewish Values, which represents over 1,000 Orthodox rabbis, wrote a letter praising Pompeo for having “righted an historic wrong and demonstrated your affinity for fairness, justice, and the Jewish People all at once.”
