Religious leaders at the ‘Coalition for Jewish Values’ hit out at ‘shofar-blowing justice warriors’ demonstrating against the president’s detention policies

A Jewish organization condemned Never Again Action on Friday for plans to protest outside the headquarters of The Geo Group, a private prison company. Coalition for Jewish Values said the event is “a trivialization of the Holocaust and utterly contrary to authentic Jewish values.”

Until June 2019, everyone understood that comparing genocidal Nazi death camps to anything short of genocidal death camps was despicable, and had any right-wing politician made such a comparison, all these shofar-blowing justice warriors would have (quite correctly) joined us in strong condemnation.

The Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV), representing over 1000 traditional rabbis in matters of public policy, today condemned the planned “Never Again Action Noise Rally” intended to disrupt operations on Monday at a federal contractor that helps process undocumented immigrants entering the United States.

“Several generations of values-free education has produced too many values-free children, in which life itself has little value or meaning.”

“We should also focus upon the loss of values which has plagued America for generations,” says Rabbi Steven Pruzansky of the Coalition for Jewish Values.

Two Democratic senators, both presidential candidates, have shown insensitivity to the Jewish community by praising anti-Semitic black leader Al Sharpton, who has incited violence against Jews.

Sharpton led protests against a Jewish-owned business in Harlem, calling the Jewish owner a “white interloper” in the neighborhood. One of the protesters later entered with a gun, shooting several customers and murdering seven employees by fire-bombing the store. Sharpton expressed disdain for the Jewish community by threatening to fight: “If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house.”
