The discussion covers Rabbi Schonfeld’s upcoming Shavuos program on Antisemitism, as well as Antisemitic attacks across the country and in Congress — along with an interesting discussion of Al Sharpton’s association with Antisemitism and violent attacks on Jews.

“That is a shameful way to describe a man known for anti-Semitic statements and incitement to violence,” said CJV president Rabbi Pesach Lerner. “Al Sharpton set race relations back years, and helped ignite a hostility towards Jews in the black community that persists to this day. For a Jewish organization to declare such a person a ‘civil-rights leader’ betrays both authentic civil rights and Jewish values.”

CJV: ‘Violence against civilians is abhorrent in all cases, under all circumstances, and hate crimes have no place in civilized society.’

In a letter sent to the White House last week, leading pro-Israel leaders urged President Trump to support Netanyahu’s determination of Israel’s own sovereignty with respect to the Palestinian-Arabs. According to the Coalition for Jewish Values, which helped organize the letter, the missive “urg[es Trump] to permit Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a free hand to extend Israeli sovereignty over Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.”

Ahead of Tuesday’s meeting, a coalition of 20 pro-Israel organizations sent a joint letter on Tuesday to Trump, asking him to let Israel decide on sovereignty.

“The Republicans are demonstratively supportive of Israel, her security needs and her democratic government,” Rabbi Pesach Lerner, president of the Coalition for Jewish Values wrote. “In the Democratic Party there is, in my opinion, outright anti-Semitism thinly veiled as ‘anti-Israel’ rhetoric, of a kind never seen or accepted in America. Instead of condemning this, today’s Democrats are defending a woman who minimizes terrorism against both Israeli Jews and against America.”
