Op-Eds
Op-Eds by our Officers and Fellows do not necessarily represent the views or focus issues of the CJV.
On Jewish destiny and the calming extension of Jewish Sovereignty
Despite the terrible errors of Israel’s leaders, Jewish destiny continually has thwarted each and every effort to cede any part of Judea and Samaria.
Der New York Stürmer
This despicable anti-Semitic publication has been attacking Jews mercilessly for more than half a century. Now its Jew-hatred has been translated into pictures for those neo-Nazis of the Left and Right who have difficulty keeping up with words that are spelled with letters.
Don’t Like The Torah’s Views On Women? Hire A PR Firm
Some outliers on the theological far left want women to be rabbis. They know the prospect wouldn’t meet with approval by the vast majority of Orthodox Jews, so they hired a public relations agency. No joke. In fact, last month the PR agency even won an award for its work.
The Trump “Dayenu”
Trump is unprecedented in the history of the relationship of the United States and Israel, and the president is only two years into his administration.
President Trump, Defender Of Israel, Ignores Naysayers And Does What He Knows Is Right
While I do believe that everything is in God’s hands, I cannot claim to know His thoughts: I do not know why He sent Donald Trump to be our president. And while God has not (yet) told me this explicitly, I am also reasonably certain that the president is not, any more than was Mr. Obama, the Messiah. What I can say, though, is that President Trump is following a Biblical model of leadership.
While Democrats Search for Crumbs, This Too Will Pass Over
It has been Mueller for two years, and it will be Mueller for another two years. It has been Democrats trying for two years to destroy the President, and it will be Democrats trying for another two years to destroy the President. Nothing new under the sun.
The Party of Bias and Bigotry
Without question, one of two individuals — Rep. Ilhan Omar and President Trump — made comments “designed to incite hatred” that are putting “life at risk.” But according to leading Democrats, that person would be the president and not Omar. One could hardly look for a better example of the inversion of morality, and of hater and hated.
Naftali Bennett Lost But Also Won Big
So Bennett – the individual – lost terribly. And yet, he won massively. There are some 325,000 Jews now living permanently in east Jerusalem and another 450,000 Jews elsewhere in Judea/Samaria.
Just The Vax, Please
Our shul, together with other rabbanim and educators, met with a group of parents vehemently opposed to vaccination, together with their lawyer and doctor. As cogent as some of their arguments were, at times, the bottom line is: We all realized that we cannot support this group under any circumstances. We simply cannot support a group that helps spread disease and endangers the lives of countless others.
Few surprises in Israel election results
Uncannily like America’s 2016 election night, those who believed Leftist polls and the Left media reports are in shock.
