Looking back on the day’s riveting events, it is amazing how effectively the Republicans and Judge Kavanaugh sidestepped the perils and emerged perhaps even stronger than the morning augured.

Men also deserve to be believed.

Guilt was presupposed and foreordained. Those who confessed were executed and those who refused to confess were also executed. The only difference was that those who confessed might succeed in sparing their immediate family members from exile or execution.

I find myself so upset now over the viciousness of the Democrats these past several weeks that I have to write. No one elected Trump imagining him to be a paragon of morality. But those who supported the vastly more consequential lies and frank divisiveness of the Obama era are in no position to lecture.

America is getting better by the day, and it is precisely the policies of the current administration that, with God’s help, have steered America back toward its upward course. And it is totally ironic that the primary beneficiaries of these dramatic improvements in America are precisely the people who most oppose President Trump.

The accusation of racism may turn out to be a poorly-researched case of “shoot first, ask questions later,” inspired in not a small part by a traditional trope used by anti-Semites throughout history.

Begin at the beginning: “Palestine,” rather than describing an “indigenous” population, is a name associated with colonialism, supremacism, slavery and bigotry — especially against Jews.

During a busy fortnight when it is impossible to comment daily on the inanity and insanity of the 24-hour Fake News cycle in Year 2 of the Age of Trump, there is a certain equanimity that comes with realizing that so many of the daily crises are not crises at all, and that so much of the media screaming is like visiting an ice cream store — each day a different flavor, but all the same basic product ready to kill you.

Yanklowitz is a celebrity, with all the glitz and fame, but no serious Torah content. Let us try to solve the mystery of why a seemingly hyper-accomplished celebrity clergyman is a no-name in most Orthodox circles, and let us ponder the possibility that his influence and that of his movement may be far greater and ominous than we realize.
