This was an extremely welcome decision from the Trump Administration. There was widespread, bipartisan sentiment that the prosecution was vindictive and the sentence disproportionate. His family has longed for this day for eight long years.

The CJV identified a Yeshiva University tenured professor as espousing “revisionist history” with a sharply anti-Israel bias, after he signed a statement by “Jewish Studies scholars” that falsified Jewish history.

President Trump’s decision is correct politically and pragmatically. It is previous Presidents, European and Arab leaders who should be questioned regarding their double standard applied uniquely to Israel.

“She held up a mirror to much of American Jewry, and some of their self-appointed leaders do not like what they see. Instead of attacking the messenger, they should do some soul-searching.”

“These needless, partisan and divisive statements are extremely harmful to Jewish unity and the Jewish future,” said Rabbi Pesach Lerner, President of the CJV. “By every measure, attachment to Judaism and Jewish tradition is growing in Israel, and, unfortunately, collapsing in America outside of Orthodoxy.”

It is an outrage that Princeton Hillel would cancel a talk by an Israeli government official based upon a false charge of racism. Rabbi Eitan Webb of Princeton Chabad did the courageous and correct thing by re-issuing the invitation rescinded by Hillel.

The Coalition for Jewish Values today welcomed a series of directives from the Trump Administration to protect religious freedom and the rights of unborn children able to feel pain.

It is wrong for these Senators to exploit their position as US legislators to publicly suggest changes to Israeli policy, especially in religious affairs with which they are unfamiliar. Is there no area of Israeli policy which they will not entrust to Israelis?

The CJV rebuked liberal Jewish clergy who publicly announced their refusal to participate in an annual conference call with the President preceding the Jewish High Holy Days.
