Coalition for Jewish Values demands Association of Reform Zionists of America disavow comparison between Israelis, Orthodox to segregation.

Four U.S. Orthodox organizations have strongly criticized a Reform Zionist official’s comparison of the Western Wall prayer controversy to the African-American civil rights struggle.

Rabbi Dov Fischer of Orange County, California added: “The government should not be forcing those whose religious beliefs oppose dispensing contraceptives to violate their consciences.”

The CJV deplored the efforts of left-wing Jewish groups to mischaracterize these steps, which Rabbi Jonah Dov Pesner, director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, described as an ‘assault on women’s rights.’

The Coalition for Jewish Values… took issue with liberal Jewish groups who were quick to denounce the Trump administration’s directive, saying these organizations “speak of tolerance yet fail to acknowledge the sincere values, beliefs and practices of those with whom they disagree.”

The Jewish organizations involved in the brief included the groups Jews for Religious Liberty, Agudath Israel of America, the Coalition for Jewish Values, the Rabbinical Council of America, and the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America.
