Saying that Jews are disloyal to Jewish interests? No anti-Semite has ever voiced such a complaint. It has literally never happened. So how foolish is it to argue that Trump “proved” his anti-Semitism by saying something no anti-Semite in history has ever said … before an applauding Jewish audience?

During the early months of hoopla, before the Mueller investigation and Russian collusion were moved from the “history” sections of libraries to “children’s fiction,” these media falsifiers seemed to crown another Democrat-Can’t-Miss-President every week.

Just as the courts are filled with deeply conservative jurists and radical left jurists — and all kinds of judges in between along the broad spectrum of political and legal thought — so it is with “legal scholars.”

There is a legal principle known as the “legislative privilege.” Under that rule, any legislator can say in the Senate or in the House of Representatives any darned thing he or she feels like saying, and the law shields the legislator from being sued for defamation.

The problem for the Democrats now is that there is a time and place for everything, even ridiculous things, and they have been so focused on impeachment for so long that they do not realize that, at least for now, their impeachment time has passed.

I will tell you this: If I have planned a vacation of a lifetime with my family, and we all have cleared our calendars, bought our tickets, reserved our rooms, and then an urgent legal matter arises in the litigation, we all have to cancel and reschedule the vacation.

Lot participated in the carousing associated with that life while still thinking himself somewhat above it. He made sure that others paid his admission fee to the Friday night frat parties and Saturday football games, and probably davened at least once a day. Rituals mattered, even if there was little internalization and his heart was not in it.

By now it seems clear that the “impeachment” hearings are a Rorschach test, with Adam Schiff the most notable ink splotch. It is what you want to see. If you hate Trump, everything is impeachable. If you love Trump, everything is impeccable. And regardless of your Trump feelings, everything is imperceptible.

By cowering and backing down, LeBron James publicly conveyed to the Chinese dictatorship that voices in the West will remain silent and that China is free to persecute and murder millions while James and his corporate sponsor, Nike, rake in their respective millions, devoid of conscience.

It is amazing how much utter nonsense and demagoguery has been flying in Israel since the indictments of Prime Minister Netanyahu were announced by Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit.
